to another participant unless the disclosure is authorised, consented to or otherwise permitted or required by law and is appropriate in the circumstances.

Once you voluntarily disclose personal information directly to another participant, Catch Select cannot control how that person subsequently uses, retains or discloses that information.

using the unsubscribe facility provided in the communication;
-
contacting us directly; or

28. Important Privacy Information for Catch Select
This Privacy Policy is intended to reflect the structure and key obligations of the Australian Privacy Principles, including requirements relating to:
-
transparent privacy practices;
-
collection of personal information;
-
collection of sensitive information;
-
notification of collection;
-
permitted use and disclosure;
-
direct marketing;
-
overseas disclosures;
-
government-related identifiers;
-
information quality;
-
information security;
-
access; and
-
correction.
The Australian Privacy Principles require an APP entity to maintain a clearly expressed and up-to-date privacy policy that explains the kinds of personal information it handles, how information is collected and held, the purposes for which it is collected, held, used and disclosed, access and correction procedures, complaint procedures, and likely overseas disclosures and countries where practicable.
Before publication, Catch Select should complete the bracketed business details and ensure the policy accurately reflects its actual information handling practices, particularly:
-
whether Catch Select is covered by the Privacy Act;
-
what sensitive information is genuinely collected;
-
whether police or criminal-history information is collected;
-
which third-party platforms and providers are used;
-
whether personal information is disclosed overseas and, where practicable, the relevant countries;
-
how profile photographs and information are approved for sharing with potential matches;
-
how consent is obtained and recorded;
-
how long information is retained; and
-
who is responsible for privacy complaints and requests.
Sensitive information is subject to stricter collection requirements, and APP 3 generally requires consent and reasonable necessity unless an exception applies. Overseas disclosures may also require reasonable steps to protect personal information before disclosure.
For direct marketing, Australian privacy requirements under APP 7 may apply, while commercial electronic messages must also comply with applicable spam requirements concerning consent, sender identification and a functional unsubscribe process.
